Manning & Murray is seeking a part-time legal assistant to join our estate and trust administration and estate planning practice in January 2018. The time commitment will be approximately 15-20 hours a week and the part-time legal assistant will be joining a team of two attorneys and a full-time legal assistant. The pay will be good and will depend on prior work experience.
Quantitative aptitude and strong attention to detail are needed, as well as the ability to review a person’s financial documents (account statements, tax returns, etc.) and ascertain key financial information from these documents. This job will involve preparing estate and trust accountings that report all estate/trust financial activity, and assisting with other estate administration tasks such as transferring accounts and meeting probate and tax deadlines.
Additional responsibilities will include assisting with the preparation of estate planning documents (Wills, Trusts, Deeds, etc.) and client correspondence, helping with document signings, answering phone calls from clients and prospective clients, scheduling appointments, filing documents, and other administrative support tasks. The day-to-day job responsibilities will vary and a willingness to assist the attorneys and full-time legal assistant with a wide range of tasks is important.
